Command line tools:
arp – Shows the ARP(Address Resolution Protocol) cache and adds and removes MAC(Medium Access Control) address from the cache.
hostname – Shows the host name of the local computer.
ipconfig – shows the TCP/IP configuration
nbtstat – shows the statistics and connections of NetBIOS over TCP/IP client
netdiag – conducts network tests. (Not compatible with Windows 7)
pathping – network tool that combines the functionality of ping and tracert. (Only windows NT)
route – shows the IP routing table, adds and deletes IP routes.
tracert – network tool for tracing a route to remote systems.
tar -cvf <fileToBackup> <locationToStoreBackup>
-c – Creates a new archive
-v, –verbose – replies verbosely while processing files
-f, –file – use archive or device ARCHIVE
tar -xzf <fileName.tar.gz>
